Skill/ Topic: Idioms and Casual English Language
Major: Aviation/ Air Traffic Control
Today I met my tutee Dojun for the first time. He currently resides in South Korea. He works for an airline company in the flight technical support department.
He desires to work on his English for two reasons; job situations and communicating with the pilots.
He told me he doesn't want to speak Konglish ( Korean English). I thought that was hilarious.
During our lesson we covered idioms and contractions.
I believe through listening and speaking he will learn casual English phrases. It's important to learn casual English because it's what native speakers use often to communicate.
Idioms we practiced:
bail
text me
chillin
for real
it's on the house
text me
night owl
