This past Monday I met with my tutee Khalid. He previously had told me that he was having trouble learning gerunds and infinitives, so I had gathered a few online resources to help him during our tutoring session. I also showed him the website Quizlet.com, with the hope that he would use it to help him study English vocabulary. He completed a couple of online gerunds and infinitives activities, and I reviewed each question with him. We agreed that he is going to have to memorize certain trigger words that will help him understand when to use gerunds and when to use infinitives. We ended the session and planned on meeting up sometime next week so that I can help him with writing a research paper.
