Class: Listening Group 4A
Teacher: Felicia Ciappetta
I really enjoyed Professor Ciappetta's lesson and involvement with her class.
The class actively listened to a Ted Talk about five essential ways to listen better.
The class did various activities based around what they had learned and obtained from this video.
Professor Ciappetta's methods were impressive especially with all the different skills she had the students use in order to interact with her and one other.
I was impressed with the students in terms of how much information they retained from the video and how they were able to analyze the data. I also noticed the students love to participate and throughly answer questions.
Lesson Plan:
- Listen to Ted Talk ( 5 Ways to Listen Better)
- Students actively write notes while listening
- Summarize main points with a partner/ small groups
- As a class summarize points
- Close eyes for three minutes and discuss what you hear
- Tell partner about a conflict you are experiencing in life currently and summarize partner's conflict tomorrow in class
