Class Observation #2
Grammar Group 2A Olivia James

Today I observed the Grammar 2A class with Olivia James. She started out by reviewing what will be on their upcoming exam. She said that there will be two sections including "used to" with a fact, "used to" with a routine, and the past continuous. As she went through each section, she asked the class to remind her what each meant and how they previously learned it. One thing I noticed is that the past activities they were referring to were very interactive including conversations and writing about movies using the verb forms.  She then walked around and read student sentences aloud. This allowed for corrections to be made as a class. The environment felt lively and free of pressure. James also helped form sentences by writing on the board and asking for words from the class. It was a very interactive, group lesson. Then, James put on two movies in separate rooms that they had to write more sentences about saying that they would form teams and compete for points. I thought this was a great way to make the students participate in the lesson because the movies were both very interesting and turning it into a competition made it more exciting.
