Tutoring Session #3
My third tutoring session involved helping Cassie make her powerpoint for her presentation of the literature review we looked at in the previous session. I noticed she was repeatedly using "affect" and "effect" incorrectly. We went through and I explained the rule for which one to use in what context. She seemed to really grasp the difference and by the end, she could use the rule herself. Additionally, she was not understanding complicated technology vocabulary so I helped her by explaining real life examples. At the end of the session, she presented the article to me with the completed powerpoint. I corrected her pronunciation and gave her example audience questions. It was a good session and I improved my skills of explaining grammar rules.
I like that you made Cassie present her presentation to you after correcting it for errors. That is a good way for both you and her to learn!
