Tutoring Session #8
As I said last time, this session would be another listening/speaking session. Essentially, practicing normal conversation. I told her that this time, I would bring a series of conversation starters and she would pick one out of a bag and start a conversation using it. She found this to be a fun way of practicing her skills. This made her think on her feet because she was not prepared for any of the conversations. One example of a conversation starter was "If you could travel anywhere in the world, where would you go..." Cassie would then respond to the prompt and we would have a whole conversation based off of this. She seemed to be more comfortable this time and this helped with her fluency. Her affective filtered was lowered because she enjoyed the activity a lot.
